HOTWORX congratulates franchisees, Chad and Heather Rodine, who were awarded 3 franchise licenses in the Denver market and recently opened their Aurora, CO (Buckley) studio!
What originally motivated you to consider a business opportunity?
Heather and I are avid HOTWORX members and have seen the results of dedicated exercise in the sauna. We began discussing the possibility of expanding the HOTWORX network through franchise ownership to bring this unique and results-oriented program to additional communities. Upon exploring the opportunity and discovering the financial possibilities, we decided that becoming a franchise owner was in our future.
What led you to explore franchising rather than an independent business?
We have owned multiple businesses in the past and are experienced entrepreneurs, albeit not in the fitness industry. HOTWORX presented a proven methodology to opening and operating a successful fitness studio that was compelling.
What was your initial impression of your first HOTWORX session?
SWEAT and more SWEAT!!
How was your experience going through the HOTWORX Discovery Process?
Our Franchise Recruiter, Kayla, was extremely accommodating and detailed. She set our expectations early regarding the length, amount of information, and financing needed for a mutual acceptance to proceed. The Discovery Process was comprehensive and ultimately designed to inform prospective franchisees of all the pros and cons of opening a studio. My only two critiques would be to encourage potential franchisees to speak with current franchisees earlier in the process and a more transparent disclosure of non-contractual requirements, such as needing 200 members prior to opening a studio.
How would you describe your Orientation Day and meeting the HOTWORX Executive Team?
Orientation Day was well worth our time, yet lengthy. A lot of the information covered during Orientation Day was repetitive to what we had already learned but it was nice to hear it from the leadership team that ultimately manages each part of the practice.
What advice would you give to other candidates considering the opportunity to franchise with HOTWORX?
My advice would be to begin the Discovery Process with the mindset to learn as much as possible. Begin speaking with financing organizations early to make sure that one is comfortable with the short and long term risks. Also, request to communicate with current franchisees early in the process and request to see available locations in your proposed territory after your second or third call with your Recruiter to make sure the location meets your expectations.
What are the top 3 reasons you chose to franchise with HOTWORX?
1. Really fell in love with the exercise platform and bought into the philosophy.
2. After exploring the earning potential of opening a studio and learning more about the business model, we determined that this was a good opportunity.
3. Provided an opportunity to provide a method for people to change their lives for the better in today's fast-paced and demanding culture.
What excites you the most in offering HOTWORX to your community?
Offering HOTWORX to the community is exciting because it will provide a training method to people of all ages and fitness levels with minimal time commitments.
What goals do you plan to accomplish in your first year as a HOTWORX franchisee?
Our goals include opening our first studio in less than 9 months, obtaining 350 members during the Presale phase, exceeding 900 members before our 1 year anniversary of being open, and generating over $150K in earnings our first year.
