HOTWORX congratulates franchisees, Sam and Jonathan Kendrick, who were awarded 3 franchise licenses in the Mobile-Pensacola (Fort Walton Beach) market and recently opened their Mobile, AL (Spring Hill) studio!

What originally motivated you to consider a business opportunity?
Jonathan and I are both pretty entrepreneurial individuals and I have always known that we will eventually work for ourselves. He is in finance and accounting, while I am in sales and account management. We own rental property and we also buy/rehab/sell property on the side. I have been following HOTWORX since before it was officially HOTWORX and knew for a while that this was a great concept. I think it took the real estate market skyrocketing for us to pull the trigger. When the market heated up, we started having trouble finding property to buy.

What led you to explore franchising rather than an independent business?
Honestly, for me it had to be something that I believed in and knew was a homerun. It's not about franchising in general, it's about having an amazing product.

What was your initial impression of your first HOTWORX session?
Loved it, which I knew I would. I am a huge fan of virtual instructor-led workouts. I was previously doing Beachbody from home, which is also a great product. However, all of my favorite programs are 45 min to an hour long, which is very difficult for a working mom to fit into an already busy schedule.

How was your experience going through the HOTWORX Discovery Process?
Great, although most of it I did on my own without my husband being involved. He supports anything I do, but it was important for me to have his buy-in and also be excited about it. So during the process, I made him try HOTWORX (he goes as much as I do now) and we talked to another franchisee.

How would you describe your Orientation Day and meeting the HOTWORX Executive Team?
I was all in before Orientation Day. However, meeting the Executive Team showed me I was making the right decision. I absolutely love the company culture.

What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs considering the opportunity to franchise with HOTWORX?
Know the market and understand the target, that's easy for me because I am basically the target. Go to some HOTWORX sessions if you have not already.

What are the top 3 reasons you chose to franchise with HOTWORX?
1. Financial independence
2. Confidence in the product
3. Growth potential for the company

What excites you the most in offering HOTWORX to your community?
I will not be opening a location in my hometown, however we love going to the Pensacola area and spend a good amount of time there. The market in that area is mostly open, so I love the idea of introducing this new concept.

What goals do you plan to accomplish in your first year as a HOTWORX franchisee?
Aside from opening and growing the business, my goal is to leave my current job within the first year in order to concentrate on HOTWORX full time.

How will HOTWORX help you achieve your personal and professional goals?
HOTWORX will help me become financially independent in order to leave my job. It will also allow me to have freedom and flexibility, spending time with my kids.
