HOTWORX congratulates franchisees, Jesse and Wendy Wylie, who were awarded a franchise license in the Sacramento-Stockton-Modesto market and recently opened their Modesto, CA (Pelandale Ave) studio!
What originally motivated you to consider a business opportunity?
Jesse: I was motivated to join HOTWORX after I built a studio in Riverbank, CA for Mike Wilkins. I've been a contractor for 25 years. I loved the saunas to work out in and I loved the business plan and simplicity of how it's run and what it offers.
Wendy: I was motivated to join HOTWORX because our friend, Mike Wilkins, built one in Riverbank, CA. I was a teacher for 3 years, I've been a gymnastics coach for almost 27 years, and have owned our gym, WEN Gymnastics, in Oakdale, CA for the last 9 years. I love being a business owner and also fell in love with the business plan behind HOTWORX and what it has to offer.
What led you to explore franchising rather than an independent business?
Jesse: I've always had an independent business, so I didn't really choose a franchise other than I just really enjoyed what HOTWORX offered.
Wendy: I honestly didn't know much about franchising, but it has been so cool to see the benefits and the structure that this company has. That's what motivated me to be a part of it.
What was your initial impression of your first HOTWORX session?
Jesse: My first HOTWORX session was actually in Clovis. I loved it because it was quick but I felt like I had worked out for an hour.
Wendy: My first session felt more intense than any workouts I had been doing. I LOVED the sweat, how quick the workout was, and how I felt afterwards.
How was your experience going through the HOTWORX Discovery Process?
Jesse: The Discovery Process for HOTWORX was painless - lots of information, but plenty of help.
Wendy: The Discovery Process was easy - lots of great information and help.
How would you describe your Orientation Day and meeting the HOTWORX Executive Team?
Jesse: Orientation Day was good - again, lots of info, and great to see and meet so many people. It is a long day, but in the end it is worth it.
Wendy: It's amazing to meet with people from all walks of life and from so many different areas across the U.S. It was a very long day, but also very informational.
What advice would you give to other candidates considering the opportunity to franchise with HOTWORX?
Jesse: Do it! I feel really strongly that it's a great opportunity.
Wendy: The HOTWORX business plan is great! You should definitely do it because of the opportunities it will bring.
What are the top 3 reasons you chose to franchise with HOTWORX?
Jesse:
1. Make money
2. Health - I wanted to invest more of my time in my own health and what better way than to own a gym.
3. Investment for my daughters - I want to provide something for them to work at during school and possibly after.
Wendy:
1. To make money and have a business that will help us with the future
2. I love the workouts that it provides & strongly believe in the health benefits
3. To be able to provide an investment for our girls
What excites you the most in offering HOTWORX to your community?
Jesse: I'm excited to offer our community easy access to quick workouts for a relatively inexpensive price.
Wendy: I'm most excited for the opportunity to offer a unique way to exercise that's easy, quick & reasonably priced.
What goals do you plan to accomplish in your first year as a HOTWORX franchisee?
Jesse: My goal is to have over 1000 members by year one.
Wendy: SAME! :) To have at least 1000 members in one year.
How will HOTWORX help you achieve your personal and professional goals?
Jesse: If we get our membership high enough, it will allow me to spend more time with family, travel more, and own another successful business in our area. We don't plan on stopping at one. We would like to have many.
Wendy: I hope that HOTWORX will help us in the future financially, allowing us to have a comfortable retirement some day and giving us the opportunity to be successful business owners, spend more time with our family, and travel more. Our goal is to also own another studio.
