Hurricane Ida Relief and Support for South LA

Hurricane Ida made landfall on August 29, 2021 as a Category 4 hurricane, leaving devastation in its path. The residents of South Louisiana are resiliently making efforts to restore normalcy back to the communities that were damaged by the storm. HOTWORX & Planet Beach's World Headquarters is located in Marrero, LA, just south of New Orleans. A handful of our corporate employees have homes that were impacted in some form and extended families of corporate employees who live further south, where the devastation was most severe.

HOTWORX & Planet Beach Franchising recruited the help of our contacts to join us in support of the South Louisiana residents who were greatly impacted by Hurricane Ida by donating to a GoFundMe fundraiser. A portion of the monetary donations were used to purchase items to deliver for a volunteer trip down to Sacred Heart Church in Montegut, LA. On Sunday, September 26th, corporate employees packed over 200 bag lunches and zip lock bags that included toiletries, then traveled down to South Louisiana to personally distribute the items to parishioners of Sacred Heart Church and members of the Montegut community.

We sincerely appreciate the kindness of those who contributed to this cause that is very dear to our hearts. HOTWORX & Planet Beach Franchising matched the amount we raised through GoFundMe and we presented a check for $9,000 to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

A separate donation of $10,000 was made by HOTWORX & Planet Beach to King of Glory Ministry in Hammond, LA. Their team has used the funds to buy tents and supplies for those impacted by Hurricane Ida. They've also cooked jambalaya and fed over 300 people in the first of many trips made. King of Glory is committed to their continued assessment of the affected areas and plans to make many more trips to help as much as they can.
