Innovation and Virtual Instructors Make Hot Yoga and More a 24-7 Reality

The HOTWORX concept began with the idea that a sauna could be designed so that clients could experience hot yoga with infrared heat.  That 63 square foot sauna design was a success, but a by-product of that innovation was the realization that the HOTWORX sauna could be used in a setting that allowed for 24 hour fitness usage.  Thus, the 24 hour infrared fitness studio was born into existence on Feb. 13, 2017 in Oxford, MS with the opening of the first HOTWORX Studio…and with that, the world’s first studio for 24 hour hot yoga (and more) became a reality.

Two things make this work.

First, the sauna is a self contained semi-private infrared studio for three clients that lends itself to the opportunity for multiple sauna units set up side-by-side with separate workout session scheduling for each of them.  Second, the use of virtual instruction allows for workouts to be served to the TV monitors set to an exact schedule and on a 24/7, 365 basis.

Hot yoga is always available now for clients!  But wait, the headline of this article indicates more…

At HOTWORX there is a tagline, which says that the company goes, “Beyond Hot Yoga”.  What this means is more than just the use of infrared at 125º.  The company has expanded its hot exercise “menu” to extend well beyond just hot yoga.  Now there is Hot Pilates, Hot Iso, Hot Buns, Hot Core, Hot Bands, Hot Flex, Hot Warrior, and the all new Hot Barre to be released soon…which is just the isometric offerings.  For HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) there is Hot Row, Hot Cycle and rolling out as we speak, Hot Blast which incorporates the use of the awesome Keiser Total Body Trainer for a full body 15 minute head to toe torching.

Now that goes well beyond hot yoga!

Additionally, HOTWORX provides a functional training area known as the FX Zone that also provides 24/7 virtual instruction in the form of a silent training series for bands and for Myokore suspension training.

The well designed original workout choreography, and the extensive suite of isometric and HIIT sessions is great, but it takes talented instruction to bring the sequences to life and to provide the motivation for the clients.  That is why HOTWORX launched an annual Virtual Instructor Competition, or tryouts, if you will, to find the 5 best fitness instructors to be filmed for the upcoming year of new workouts.

The advantages of virtual instruction for customers include the following:

1-Virtual Instructors (VI’s) always show up on time.2-VI’s are always bringing their A game (no hangovers or low energy).3-VI’s are easy to see and to hear within the close proximity of the sauna.4-VI’s are certified and experienced.5-Customers can workout with their favorite instructors more often.6-Customers can select workouts from a 24/7, 365 day a year schedule.

I am happy to announce that we are now accepting online applications for this year’s VI Competition with the final round of the top 15 to be held at our annual franchise convention this year at the fabulous Planet Hollywood Hotel on the strip in Las Vegas this July 21-24.  This year’s “tryouts” will result in the top 5 VI’s who will be filmed for the 2020 workout videos.
